Our Mission
To increase healthy eating and physical activity among teens as a way to improve health and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
The Program
California Project LEAN's Food on the Run program promotes healthy eating and physical activity. Through the program, student advocates are trained in the basics of nutrition, physical activity, advertising and working with the media. There are student advocates trained in nearly 30 high schools in California who are making changes to their campus to add more healthy foods in the cafeteria and vending machines, and increase the opportunities for students to be physically active.

Food on the Run, a program of California Project LEAN, is administered by The Public Health Institute and funded by The California Endowment. Students advocates, registered dietitians/nutritionists, and physical activity specialists developed the content of this web site.
